About Barbara L. Bornstein, Senior Global Real Estate Advisor

Barbara Bornsteins success stems from an innate passion, wealth of experience, and dedication that she brings to her career as a premier real estate broker, as well as the Hamptons community - a place she has called home for 32 years.

It is her unparalleled professionalism, market knowledge, and ability to develop an enduring level of trust with her clients and customers that has earned her repeat business and referrals. Barbara has been consistently recognized as one of Sothebys International Realtys parent company, NRTs network of top 1,000 brokers and earned the prestigious title of Senior Global Real Estate Advisor. Her distinction lies in the ability to listen and understand the needs of each individual and intuitively and expeditiously connect buyers and properties. Her calm, straightforward, and insightful way of communicating results in effective negotiations.

Originally from Alabama, Barbara knew the Hamptons would be her permanent home the day she stepped foot on the South Fork in 1991, instantly taken in by its pristine beauty. She began her career in luxury real estate at the landmark firm, Allan M. Schneider Associates, Inc., in 1992, and, in 2006, she joined Sothebys International Realty. Her background in commercial banking, historic renovation, and understanding of local zoning and planning code has served as a foundation in listing and selling a multitude of properties, including historic homes, new construction, vacant land, and horse farms.

Barbaras breadth of knowledge and dedication to the East End is also evident in her close involvement with the community. For over twenty years, she served as a board member for non-profits and local government agencies, including the Southampton Trails Preservation Society, Southampton Town Trail Advisory Board, and Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt, to ensure that the beauty of the Hamptons is preserved and properly maintained for the enjoyment of future generations. Barbara has also facilitated the purchase of strategically significant parcels for preservation by the Community Preservation Fund.

Barbara lives full time in Sagaponack where she balances her life in real estate pursuing her passions of art, horsemanship, hiking, and volunteer work. She cares for her animals  in a way that inspires people to remark they would like to come back as one of her pets.
